Privacy Policy
Last updated: 1 July 2026
ViDi Pools ("we", "us", "our") operates the venue at Plot 1A Amadi Avenue, Mercyland Estate, Ayobo Ipaja, Lagos State, Nigeria, and the website www.vidipools.com. This policy explains what personal data we collect, why we collect it, how we protect it, and the rights you hold over it. We process personal data in line with the Nigeria Data Protection Act 2023 (NDPA) and, where applicable to guests in the European Economic Area or United Kingdom, the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).
1. The Data We Collect
- Contact and reservation data: name, email address, phone number, party size, and booking preferences you provide through our contact form, by phone, or on WhatsApp.
- Membership data: application details, tier, payment records, and visit history for active members.
- Newsletter data: your email address if you subscribe to The Baulk Line.
- Website usage data: pages visited, device type, and approximate location, collected through cookies only where you have consented to analytics.
- CCTV footage: recorded on the premises for the safety of guests and staff, retained for a limited period and then overwritten.
2. Why We Process It
- To take and manage reservations, lounge bookings, and event enquiries (performance of a contract).
- To administer memberships, billing, and the bottle keep service (performance of a contract).
- To send The Baulk Line newsletter where you have opted in (consent — withdraw at any time via the unsubscribe link).
- To improve the website and understand how guests use it (consent, via optional analytics cookies).
- To keep guests and staff safe on the premises (legitimate interest).
- To meet legal, tax, and regulatory obligations (legal obligation).
3. Cookies
We use two categories of cookies. Essential cookies keep the site functioning — remembering your cookie choice itself, for example — and cannot be switched off. Analytics cookies help us understand site usage and are set only if you choose "Accept All" in the cookie banner. You can change your choice at any time through the "Cookie Preferences" link in the footer, which reopens the banner.
4. Who We Share Data With
We do not sell personal data. We share it only with service providers who help us operate — payment processors, website hosting, email delivery — under contracts that restrict their use of it, and with authorities where the law requires. If any provider processes data outside Nigeria, we ensure appropriate safeguards are in place.
5. How Long We Keep It
Reservation enquiries are kept for up to twelve months. Membership and billing records are kept for the duration of membership plus the period required by tax law. Newsletter data is kept until you unsubscribe. CCTV footage is retained for no more than thirty days unless needed for an investigation.
6. Your Rights
Under the NDPA and, where it applies, the GDPR, you have the right to:
- access a copy of the personal data we hold about you;
- correct data that is inaccurate or incomplete;
- request deletion of your data where we no longer need it;
- object to or restrict certain processing;
- receive your data in a portable format;
- withdraw consent at any time, without affecting prior processing;
- complain to the Nigeria Data Protection Commission or your local supervisory authority.
7. Security
We protect personal data with access controls, encrypted connections on the website, and staff training. No system is perfectly secure, but we review our measures regularly and will notify you and the regulator of any breach as the law requires.
8. Children
Our website and marketing are directed at adults. We do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 18. If you believe a minor has provided us data, contact us and we will delete it.
9. Contact & Data Requests
To exercise any right or ask a question about this policy, email info@vidipools.com with "Data Request" in the subject line, call +234 811 653 0623, or write to ViDi Pools, Plot 1A Amadi Avenue, Mercyland Estate, Ayobo Ipaja, Lagos State. We respond to verified requests within thirty days.
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The date at the top shows the latest revision; material changes will be announced on this page before they take effect.
